The Mirage

The Mirage

New York

2026

The Mirage explores the relationship between visibility, perception, and chance encounters. Organic peepholes and openings punctuate the building’s walls, simultaneously establishing boundaries and creating thresholds for unexpected visual connections. These apertures allow occupants to catch fleeting glimpses of one another, transforming ordinary moments of passing into opportunities for spontaneous encounters. Enclosed by corrugated glass, the building blurs the distinction between transparency and obscurity, revealing and concealing its inhabitants through shifting perspectives. Situated within a surreal, Yves Tanguy-esque landscape, The Mirage exists as an ambiguous presence, dissolving into its surroundings rather than asserting itself against them. Its architecture becomes an exercise in selective visibility—a place that reveals itself only to those who choose to look, where encounters are neither prescribed nor guaranteed, but left to chance.
